Ryan Edwards is not a waiter, at least not to my knowledge, but he might as well be with how many times he’s served it up on a platter to his teammates over the years at Quaker Valley.

With 49 assists as a senior and 78 for his varsity career, Edwards was a key part in the Quaker Valley Quakers run to the state championship victory earlier this school year. His 49 assists in a season is a school record, as he shattered the previous mark by 22 more assists. His 78 career assists are also a school record, breaking that mark by 31 more assists than the next closest player.
Overall, it’s been an exciting school year for the Quakers, but this chapter will soon be closing in his life. However, soccer is nowhere close to ending as he is committed to the Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. A member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, Edwards will hope to make an impact immediately with his sharp passing skills and winning mentality.
His favorite memories so far from his career have been winning the state title, finding the back of the next in the penalty kick shootout in the state title game, and playing alongside his Riverhounds teammates on the club circuit.
“When I moved to Riverhounds, I feel like I improved exponentially,” he said. “They forced me to really put the work in if I wanted to be a prominent player on the team. The training are always high quality and forces you to be sharp. They have also been great in helping during the recruitment process.”
The Sunshine State is next on the docket for Edwards, a place he always hoped to live one day. He plans to major in finance at FGCU. For the next few weeks anyway, he will look to close out high school with some of his lasts with many peers and friends.
